The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to precise medical coding for outpatient services, diagnostic assessments, and various orthopaedic-related medical procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements pertaining to coding methodologies and practices
  • Perform audits and coding evaluations to verify the accuracy and precision of all documentation
  • Assign and organize all codes for services provided
  • Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure timely resolution of all billing matters
  • Engage with insurance providers regarding coding discrepancies and disputes
  • Provide statistical information for analysis and research purposes by other departments
  • Effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding inquiries about treatments or diagnostic evaluations related to coding practices
Educate physicians and billing personnel on the standards of medical record documentation and coding practices.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
  • CPC Certification is mandatory
  • Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication abilities, encompassing both written and verbal skills, along with active listening
  • Proficient in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving
  • Familiarity with Excel and other data management tools
  • Capable of planning and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Excellent customer service aptitude; communicates clearly and effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to work varied hours as necessary
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in coding orthopaedic procedures, particularly spinal surgeries.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent

CPC Certification

Minimum Experience:
Experience in a medical office or healthcare facility setting (required)

Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a workstation and utilizing a computer

Experience Required:
Orthopaedic Coding: 2 years (required)

Certification:
Certified Professional Coder (required)
