Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly motivated and organized Tutor to join our team at Sylvan Learning. As a Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering guided, scripted curriculum and/or lesson support to groups of up to 8 students on local school campuses. You will also set up and manage the learning environment, motivate students with resources from our on-site toy store, and collaborate with Coordinators and Directors to ensure smooth program execution.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality tutoring services to students in reading and math.
- Set up and manage the learning environment to ensure a positive and productive experience for students.
- Motivate students with resources from our on-site toy store.
- Collaborate with Coordinators and Directors to ensure smooth program execution.
- Attend online training provided by Sylvan and participate in shadowing experiences.
- Associate's degree or 2-years college completion toward 4-year degree required.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must provide TB clearance and complete a Live Scan background check.
- $24 – $26/hour.
- Training rate: $18/hour (10-16 hours).
- Tutors can expect to tutor between 1.5 hours to 3 hours per day, 3 to 4 days per week.
- Tutoring will occur between 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM and may vary based upon the needs of the school and their bell schedule.
