Sylvan Learning is a leading provider of supplemental education services for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. With over 40 years of experience, we have established a reputation for delivering high-quality educational results. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Associate Director of Education, you will be responsible for championing our developed curriculum, managing educational standards, and delivering quality instruction. Your primary objectives will be to:

  • Ensure Educational Integrity by administering Sylvan Skills Assessments, analyzing results, and writing goal-based programs for students.
  • Teach and master Sylvan academic programs in reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
  • Establish relationships with students' teachers to gain insights on school progress and create a positive learning environment.

Management and Training:

You will participate in training and motivating certified instructors, teachers, tutors, and support staff. Additionally, you will contribute to center profitability by controlling labor budgets and managing instructor staffing levels and schedules.

Growth and Development:

You will participate in the enrollment process, diagnosing students' needs, and making education recommendations and plans for progress. You will also keep parents informed on program progress through written and delivered conferences.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience in a public or private school (K-12)
  • Managerial experience in a customer service environment (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills, and the ability to build relationships
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Confidence presenting information to parents and small groups
  • Ability to work early evening hours and alternating Saturdays
  • Excellent technology skills and ability to use apps, computers, iPads, etc.
  • Teaching credential a plus (but not required)
