JOB SUMMARY:
Independently engage in the development of mechanical designs and modifications. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for electro-mechanical systems and software, encompassing robotic welding, material handling, and equipment control. Provide support to manufacturing operations by ensuring optimal functionality and coordinating maintenance through external service providers when necessary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage projects to ensure that activities, timelines, and budgets are consistently monitored. Conduct regular meetings with team members to assess upcoming tasks. Facilitate the creation and execution of engineering test plans for specific products, processes, or challenges. Offer engineering assistance to enhance manufacturing production.

Specifically:
Accountable for CAD/CAM models, technical drawings, design, and upkeep.
Proficient in programming robotic PLC, HMI, and control software (notably Yaskawa/Motoman).
Assist in design, layout, detailing, and BOM generation.
Establish and uphold relevant policies and procedures for the department concerning CAD, CA, ECN, and BOM.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, product cost assessments, and design documentation.
Develop designs as assigned.

Oversee and/or assist in the design and development of tools and processes aimed at optimizing manufacturing methods, including robotics and automation.

Generate Corrective Actions for issues identified during equipment reliability and performance evaluations; aid in investigating alternative solutions and resolving product design and/or manufacturing challenges.

Enhance manufacturing efficiencies, product/process design, and improvements with a focus on customer experience.
Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.
Regular attendance is a critical aspect of this role.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE and SKILLS & ABILITIES:


An Associate Degree in Electrical/Industrial/Automation Engineering or related technical fields with a focus on robotic controls is preferred; equivalent experience in electrical/industrial/automation engineering will be considered.

Hands-on experience with automation, machine controls, robotics, and welding; familiarity with systems integration, welding principles, and equipment maintenance is essential.

Possess a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic and remedial tools with practical experience in first-level troubleshooting of electrical and hydraulic systems; familiarity with various manufacturing processes and materials is advantageous.

A minimum of four (4) years of experience with computer software and hardware, including Computer Aided Design, spreadsheets, and word processing, with at least two (2) years of practical design experience.

Ability to comprehend and interpret written documents, such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and assembly drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Demonstrated leadership qualities, effective communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills are required; possess excellent written, verbal, and proactive communication skills, with a strong presence on the production floor and the ability to engage with team members and customers across various roles and environments.

Self-motivated with the capacity to take initiative and work independently or within small teams.
Maintain positive working relationships with personnel, dealers, and key end-users.
Accountability for both assigned outcome-based projects and defined goals/objectives across multiple departments is essential.
Proficient in MS Office or related software.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Team members must:

be capable of walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, and climbing as necessary to perform assembly tasks; be able to lift 50 lbs.; wear appropriate PPE while on the production floor.

While executing the responsibilities of this position, team members frequently work near moving mechanical components. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud. Constant vigilance is required when operating equipment or performing tasks to prevent injury.
