Carpenter I

Job Summary

Carpenter I is a skilled journey-level position responsible for constructing, maintaining, and formulating finished and rough carpentry repairs internal or external to a structure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of carpentry equipment, materials, and tools, as well as knowledge of local, state, and national codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform skilled journey-level work in carpentry, including construction, maintenance, and repair of structures.
• Use knowledge of carpentry equipment, materials, and tools to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an acceptable apprentice-level training program preferred.
• One year of experience in carpentry at the apprentice II or equivalent level.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals.
• Capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when the repair is not economically practical, and perform routine tasks and arithmetic computations.
