Seeking a Breakthrough Maker for Our Inpatient Endocrine Team

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we're committed to advancing pediatric care and creating a world where every child has the chance to thrive. We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Endocrine team at Main Hospital.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you'll work collaboratively with an attending physician to provide direct care and follow-up to patients with complex endocrine conditions. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care, managing acute and chronic health problems, and promoting physiologic stability.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with complex endocrine conditions, utilizing relevant data to evaluate for physiologic instability and formulate a plan of care.
  • Perform therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems, adhering to the Scope of Practice Document and approved as part of the credentialing/privileging process.
  • Analyze indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.
  • Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Incorporate health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care within the context of complex acute, critical, and chronic illness.
  • Facilitate patient transitions between and within healthcare settings.
  • Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, nursing staff, and provider teams, acting as a consultant to multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Participate in scholarly activities, including research and education, and maintain required competencies through ongoing professional development.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) or Registered Nurse (New Jersey) licensure upon hire.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) certification in area of education/subspecialty required.
  • Prescriptive authority in Pennsylvania or New Jersey within 3 months of hire.
