ResponsibilitiesPatient Care- Provide top-notch patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of animals and staff members.
- Assist Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) with nursing care, documenting treatments, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for patients.
- Use in-house lab equipment, collect and prepare samples for reference labs, and assist with technician appointments.
- Dispense medications as directed by veterinarians and demonstrate compassion and patience when handling pets.
- Deliver exceptional client service, providing education materials, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ensure timely communication with clients, fill prescription refills, and go over estimates and treatment plans.
- Document all client interactions, utilizing proper grammar, spelling, and veterinary terminology.
- Prepare paperwork for referral hospitals or consultations and obtain accurate and relevant histories from clients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in hospital areas, including exam rooms and treatment rooms.
- Complete tasks on daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, keeping exam rooms and treatment areas stocked with necessary supplies.
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment, troubleshoot when needed, and adhere to core values, medical protocols, and operational policies.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods (shifts range from 9-12 hours).
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Basic veterinary knowledge and terminology.
