Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Property Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing the financial operations for our Property Development and Management Teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the property accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of properties.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external property managers, ensuring thorough reviews of their financial activities.
  • Preparing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Managing loan draw preparations and compliance reporting.
  • Facilitating the onboarding process for new acquisitions, including the preparation of opening entries.
  • Handling property sale entries and working closely with legal representatives during the closing process.
  • Conducting variance analyses and providing insightful commentary.
  • Calculating sales, local transfer, and franchise taxes.
  • Reviewing bank reconciliations and CAM reconciliations.
  • Reconciling tenant accounts as necessary.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Reviewing property management fee calculations and lease agreement setups within Yardi.
  • Supporting annual audits and special projects related to financial reporting and compliance.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in property development and operations accounting.
  • Proficiency in Yardi is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of lease agreements and terms.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience in supervisory roles is advantageous.
