Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology Oncology department on a full-time basis, working primarily in an outpatient setting (90%) and occasionally inpatient (10%). The position offers a stable schedule from Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with no nights, weekends, holidays, or call requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise through patient care activities, including diagnosis and management of various health issues, while ensuring effective health outcomes for assigned patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in areas of clinical specialization, fostering comprehensive patient care.
- Develop educational systems for patients, families, and staff in areas of expertise, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Mentor graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care, contributing to the growth of future professionals.
- Engage actively in quality improvement and research initiatives related to areas of specialization, driving continuous excellence in patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing or a master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification by a national certifying body approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board, or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois.
- Privileged and credentialed through the Northwestern Memorial Healthcare Medical Staff Office.
- CPR-BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
