We are seeking a highly skilled Calibration Specialist to join our team at Penn Life Sciences. As a key member of our Facilities and Engineering Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our instrumentation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Calibration and Maintenance: Perform routine calibrations of instrumentation and control systems, identify and correct measurement errors, and replace instrumentation and controls as needed.
- Instrumentation and Control Systems: Assist in the design, installation, and upgrade of instrumentation and control systems, and participate in the investigation and documentation of potential impacts on the process.
- Procedure Development: Develop and/or revise calibration procedures and job plans to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain instruments, standards, and tools, and perform equipment inspection prior to and upon return from vendor certification.
- Work Order Management: Assist supervision with the assigning, scheduling, and prioritization of work order requests using maintenance management systems.
- Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to personnel working in maintenance, ensuring they execute their roles and responsibilities with safety and compliance.
- Protocol Execution: Prepare, review, and coordinate the execution of IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols for engineering and process-related equipment.
- Procedure Review: Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Calibration Work Instructions (CWIs) related to Facilities and Engineering Department.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and field instrument calibrations for all Facilities and Engineering and process-related equipment.
- Documentation: Document all instrument calibration reports and equipment preventive maintenance and work orders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, or diploma from a vocational school or college.
- Experience: Experience working in a pharmaceutical facility or equivalent experience in a regulated industry.
- Technical Competencies: Ability to work with other technicians, demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects, ability to work independently, and ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
- Certifications/Licenses: GMP experience, experience working in a clean room environment, and ability to acquire and sustain gown qualification.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
