Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Coastal Engineer to join our team in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm Beach. As a key member of our Coastal Group, you will be responsible for planning and designing urban waterfront and coastal structures projects, including marinas, marine terminals, urban waterfront developments, and cruise ship facilities. Your expertise will also be applied to wetland restoration, dredging, shore protection structures, and flood walls.
Key Responsibilities- Design construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
- Prepare engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
- Support the analysis of project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
- Develop construction specifications, plans, and schedules to produce engineering documents.
- Research and assist in complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
- Implement scientific and regulatory tasks for projects to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and policies, including NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and Clean Water Act.
- Bachelor's degree in Coastal Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience as a coastal engineer.
- Professional Engineer (AICP, PP, PG, etc.) licensure in Florida or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
- Availability and willingness to travel.
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST.

The majority of work is office-based. Some site visits may be required, which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
