We have a career opportunity for an experienced transportation engineer to be part of an established service line at Benesch focused on enhancing transportation infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have the expertise or an interest in furthering their career focus on planning, engineering design, and the construction of transportation infrastructure for public agencies.

The successful candidate will prepare and review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates related to a variety of transportation projects.

Project Engineers also mentor and supervise the work of technical support personnel assigned to the project.

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from any of our Kansas/Missouri offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and outputs to develop applications
  • Supporting studies and alternative analysis to determine best solutions to meet compliance and client goals
  • Working with various disciplines and reviewers to ensure complete, accurate, and high-quality deliverables
  • Managing small projects, project tasks, and assisting Project Managers in overall large project delivery
  • Manage and maintain project documentation
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higher, is required
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
  • Experience working with Local and State public agency clients (Public Works, DOTs, etc.)
  • Proficient with ORD design software
  • Project experience in transportation engineering design (preferred)
