Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team at the University of Miami, Department of Biology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project comparing biodiversity patterns of terrestrial and marine organisms across space and time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on terrestrial and marine communities in oceanic archipelagos, using taxonomic and trait-based approaches to explore biodiversity patterns.
  • Develop and apply Bayesian modeling techniques to analyze complex ecological data and predict the impacts of climate change on fish communities.
  • Evaluate temporal trends in benthic communities using data from long-term monitoring programs.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. ecology, biology, environmental science).
  • Strong computational skills, including data management, data wrangling, and data analysis.
  • Programming experience in R and/or Python.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous postdoctoral experience in a related field.
  • Experience with Bayesian modeling and ecological data analysis.
