Job Title: Coating Technician

Position Summary: As a Coating Technician, you will be responsible for executing various tasks related to the application of powder coatings. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all work activities safely and in compliance with established protocols, including the use of necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Prepare workpieces by cleaning surfaces thoroughly prior to coating.
  • Utilize powder coating applicator guns to apply coatings effectively.
  • Assess color differences and ensure accurate matching of shades.
  • Set up, clean, and maintain coating equipment, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with powder coating machinery, whether in batch processing or on the production line.
  • Adhere to production targets while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Verify job orders and material selections to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records of production counts and document in the control system.
  • Inspect spray guns for wear and ensure optimal performance for coating applications.
  • Manage the curing process by placing coated items in ovens for the required duration.
  • Review finished products to confirm they meet specifications.
  • Report any scrap materials to the team lead.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the spray booth and preparation area to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in operating handheld spray guns.
  • Skilled in surface preparation for coating applications.
  • Experienced in applying powder coatings with precision.
  • Adept at identifying and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
  • Capable of maintaining production efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented in examining finished products.

Work Environment: This position operates on a first shift schedule, typically from early morning to late afternoon, with some flexibility on Fridays. The work environment may vary in noise levels and involves exposure to high temperatures.
