Job Summary:
The Senior Manager Continuous Improvement will lead the labor/process management team, defining the required-to-run (RTR) based on demand, cycle times, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), overall efficiency equipment, overall availability (OA), and kaizens. This individual will design processes (labor and materials) based on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. They will work closely with safety, quality, scheduling, and operations teams to optimize line performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and be able to apply and teach industrial engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, train, and mentor managers overseeing different continuous improvement projects.
- Design processes based on safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and manage labor.
- Disseminate and implement lean manufacturing principles throughout the factory, starting from assembly requirements.
- Drive cultural transformation of the organization through systematic training, sponsorship, and coaching of continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain a dynamic audit process of key metrics and processes and communicate findings with factory management.
- Work closely with the manufacturing engineering organization to help lay out an optimized vision and plan for factory production flow for the current state as well as for future growth.
- Develop and manage a cost reduction management system.
- Ensure a healthy constant flow of process improvement ideas being scoped, staffed, and implemented to deliver targets.
- Develop model assembly lines, processes, and leaders to benchmark throughout the factory and to other Daikin locations.
- Participate in additional projects/activities with internal and cross-functional teams to support ongoing business needs.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in industrial engineering management and implementing lean manufacturing tools and techniques in manufacturing environments.
- 10+ years in a leadership/management role preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
