About the Role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Packaging Engineering Intern to join our team. This role is part of the Manufacturing, Science, and Technology group, which plays a crucial role in overseeing packaging projects and supporting global packaging operations while serving as a Center of Excellence (CoE) for JSC.
Key Responsibilities
The Packaging Engineering Intern will contribute to the success of marketed products, new product launches, and strategic initiatives by:
- Drafting and reviewing packaging material specifications, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Evaluating labeling and artwork to ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Conducting package assessments and distribution testing.
- Assisting in the execution of controlled temperature packaging qualifications.
- Writing and reviewing technical protocols and reports.
- Managing project timelines effectively.
Areas of Focus
The role encompasses various disciplines, including:
- Packaging Engineering
- Project Management
- Technical Operations in a highly regulated environment
- Collaboration with External Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Graphics CoE, and Distribution Centers
Qualifications
A successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing at least a Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or a related Engineering/Science field.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship period.
- Completion of at least the Sophomore year of the undergraduate program.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and/or involvement in campus or community service activities.
- Previous experience in a Packaging Engineering setting is advantageous.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
Compensation
Technical Degrees:
The anticipated base pay for this position is as follows:
- Sophomore: $24.00/hr
- Junior: $25.00/hr
- Senior: $27.00/hr
- Master's Degree: $32.00/hr
Business Degrees:
The anticipated base pay for this position is as follows:
- Sophomore: $21.00/hr
- Junior: $22.00/hr
- Senior: $23.00/hr
- Master's Degree: $29.00/hr
