Prepared Foods Team Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prepared Foods Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our prepared foods team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high-performing team of prepared foods associates, providing coaching, training, and feedback to ensure excellent customer service and sales results.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our products, including ingredients, preparation methods, and nutritional information, to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
- Work closely with the team leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, analyzing sales data and labor reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with the development and implementation of visual merchandising displays, ensuring a visually appealing and engaging store environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating prices and ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader or store management.
- 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
- High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
- Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
- Product knowledge and advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- May require use of ladders.
