Pediatric Medical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team at Quadrant, Inc. As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our pediatric patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing procedures under the supervision of a physician or physician assistant
- Assist physicians and physician assistants in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document all information in patients' charts
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physicians or physician assistants
- Ensure all related reports, labs, and information are filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
- Maintain all logs and required checks, such as refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, and cold sterilization fluid change
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries
- Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
- Comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties, answering their questions, and maintaining the reception area
- Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims
- Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, scheduling equipment service and repairs
- Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Requirements:
- Experienced Medical Assistant - Pediatrics
- Must be Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Must have experience working in a physician's medical practice, Pediatrics preferred
- Must have EMR Experience - EPIC preferred
- Must have experience handling patient calls
- Must have experience taking patient vitals
- Must have experience scheduling appointments
