Job Summary:

As a skilled Nurse Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality nursing care and services to patients and families. You will also provide direction to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistive personnel, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with legal and regulatory guidelines, as well as organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide professional nursing care and delegate tasks to nursing assistive personnel as appropriate.

Utilize the nursing process to deliver care and perform tasks requiring nursing knowledge, judgment, and skills.

Administer medications and teach LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care.

Verify staff competency to perform special tasks of nursing care and ensure the quality of nursing rendered and adequacy of nursing care provided when special tasks are delegated to nursing assistive personnel.

Function as a primary nurse/total patient caregiver and serve as a resource nurse and preceptor.

Take charge duties as assigned and incorporate the Kaiser Permanente Vision, Model, and Values through your nursing practice.

Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Basic Life Support OR CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification required.

Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire.

One (1) year experience in area of specialty or completion of a formal course in area of specialty within a designated period of time after hire into the specialty.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with electronic medical records.

One (1) year experience or completion of formal course in area of specialty.

Coursework in basic EKG.
