Light Commercial Controls Product Manager

About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to spearhead innovation and establish priorities for new product development for controls and connected aftermarket solutions for light commercial products, like packaged rooftops and split systems.

This role will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to articulate the product vision and strategies to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Carrier's overall business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial building automation, hardware, or software, and be able to drive platform consolidation across multiple business units to reduce complexity and proliferation of offerings for our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an embedded electronics control's expert for the light commercial equipment product management and platform teams.
  • Collaborate with the building automation, product integrated controls, thermostat and sensor teams to provide intelligent energy and climate solutions.
  • Create and own product strategies, roadmaps, and priorities by soliciting and analyzing industry data, voice of customer data, and competitive information.
  • Aligning product strategies and plans with the near-term and long-term financial plans of the light commercial, residential, and commercial organizations.
  • Drive platform consolidation across multiple business units to reduce complexity and proliferation of offerings for our customer base.
  • Developing business cases and requirements around proposed development efforts
  • Create enticing Value Propositions and pricing strategies, and flawlessly execute product launches.
  • Manage and improve the profitability of the product portfolio through the life cycle.
  • Work with a cross functional organization with multiple stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6 + years of experience in product management and/or engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial building automation, hardware or software preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated success in launching new offerings globally.
  • Team leadership experience
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving are required.
  • An analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers at various levels within an organization.
  • Capacity for empathy and the ability to relate to, understand, and weigh the interests of a variety of audiences simultaneously.
  • Ability to work directly with customers to uncover product needs, opportunities, and problems they are trying to solve.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute product innovations.
  • Ability to sift through details quickly and determine what is important.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced exciting environment.
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced features of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Traveling up to 25% (domestic and international)

Pay Range:

$90,263 - $157,959 Annually
