The University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a highly skilled and experienced Security Specialist to join our team. As a Security Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform security duties with minimal supervision, utilizing problem-solving skills and working within established guidelines to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
- Coordinate activities with a primary focus on customer service, ensuring a positive experience for both internal and external customers.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals in stressful and sensitive situations.
- Work effectively with people of all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, applying effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Exercise sound judgment in unusual situations, particularly when dealing with aggressive and violent psychiatric patients, visitors, and intruders.
- Be available to respond to emergencies and provide support as needed.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Requirements:
- Three years of work-related experience in a security setting is required.
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions are allowed.
- Current CPR certification is required, with the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of the Hospital's in-service course (CPI) within three months of employment and the IHSS Basic Security course within six months of employment is required.
