Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant III to join our team at the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Director/Supervisor, including planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of subordinate clerical employees.
  • Prepare, maintain, and compile complex departmental reports and records.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, conference calls, and other engagements, conferences, and activities for the Director/Supervisor.
  • Take and transcribe meeting minutes.
  • Perform specialized office work requiring knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Act in a team leadership capacity, including coordination of daily activities, prioritizing, delegating, and supervision of work to completion.
  • Develop policies and procedures pertaining to administrative and operational functions.
  • Work with Network management divisions in resolving problems related to operations and administration.
  • Coordinate time management, scheduling, and travel coordination activities for the Director/Supervisor.
  • Answer routine correspondence and conduct business with the public and other departments, answering difficult and unusual questions requiring considerable judgment, knowledge, and interpretation of the activity performed.
  • Attend meetings of boards, commissions, and/or conferences, where verbatim dictation must be taken with considerable speed and accuracy.
  • Compile reports.
  • Process, file, and record personnel transactions.
  • Approve documents for submission to internal departments and external agencies.
  • Supervise the development, maintenance, and dissemination of confidential information/files.
  • Develop and implement special projects as directed.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings as identified by the Director, including performing work activities related to said meetings.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience performing clerical duties and responsibilities.
  • A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
Working Conditions

Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval. Currently, this position is primarily a remote position.
