Melting/Forming Process Engineering Internship Opportunity

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team as a Melting/Forming Process Engineering Intern. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced engineers and technologists to learn the principles of melting glass processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers and technologists in learning the melting glass processes
  • Contribute to projects in the plant, working closely with the Engineering Department
  • Participate in a midterm review and a final review with plant senior leadership

Requirements:

  • Pending Junior or Senior Engineering student, majoring in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Science
  • Motivated initiative-taker with independent learning style
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Experience with data analysis (i.e. Microsoft Excel, SPC rules)
  • Available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025

Desired Skills:

  • Process engineering skills - quantitative skills, coursework in engineering statistics or other statistical training
  • Technical writing, ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers, and managers
  • Innovative and technically curious, with problem-solving and decision-making skills
