POSITION SUMMARY:

The Superintendent is tasked with overseeing, guiding, and managing the efforts of Trade Partners, Company Labor, and Joint Venture Labor. The Superintendent will supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns, and Trade Labor within their designated area. This position is primarily on-site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the project on-site, focusing on Safety, Quality, and Schedule execution.
  • Ensure compliance with Contract Requirements.
  • Support and execute safety, schedule, and quality objectives for the project.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety practices.
  • Maintain oversight of all on-site labor forces.
  • Coordinate daily activities and inspect completed work.
  • Assign responsibilities to team members.
  • Collaborate with Office and Field Teams to achieve project goals and mitigate risks.
  • Organize project site logistics and on-site activities.
  • Promote Mechanical Solutions Inc. culture by leading with integrity and mentoring team members.
  • Interpret and understand Construction Design Documents and Specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
  • Capability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Understanding of project processes and their impact on successful completion.
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software.
  • Experience with self-perform and labor productivity management.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Understanding of organizational structure and available resources.
  • Knowledge of layout skills and crane flagging.
  • Ability to comprehend document changes and their impact on project timelines.
