Nurse Specialist

McLean Hospital is a comprehensive psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services in the Boston area and beyond.
As a Registered Nurse on our Per Diem Eating Disorder Unit, you will be responsible for providing immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accurately assessing patients' needs
- Accurately planning nursing interventions for assigned patients
- Providing and implementing nursing care interventions
- Accurately evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care interventions
- Providing a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care
- Providing for teaching needs of patients and significant others
- Maintaining a commitment to professional growth and competency
- Demonstrating effective interpersonal communication
- Contributes to the productivity and cost-effectiveness of the hospital, department, and unit

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred
- Experience: No experience required, one year medical/psychiatric experience preferred
- License: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize the nursing process
- Ability to work collaboratively
