Staff Engineer, Energy Supply Major Projects

Xcel Energy is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our Energy Supply Major Projects team. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of complex engineering projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform activities/assignments that may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials or methods, and difficult coordination requirements.
- Support the development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, standards, and procedures.
- Work under the general direction of a higher-level engineer or supervisor for routine engineering projects, providing ongoing technical support for project activities within areas such as Operations, Maintenance, testing/diagnostics, and Regulatory.
- May lead small-medium, non-critical projects, and coordinate/lead critical projects or portions of projects, including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning.
- Support bid/evaluation processes, including preparation of bid documents, completion of technical evaluations for proposals, and provide recommendations for selection.
- Partners and communicates with areas such as Supply Chain and Legal, following appropriate processes.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency), preferred electrical engineering.
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated broad knowledge and proficiency in specialty area, knowledge of related specialties, and general knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Ability to demonstrate unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level established and documented by the organization.
- Previous experience in power generation projects.
