Position: Family Centered Services (FCS) Family Support Specialist (Full-Time)
The Family Access Center is looking for a dedicated Family Centered Services (FCS) Family Support Specialist (FSS) to provide essential support within a dynamic and high-demand environment.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or an Associate of Arts degree in human services or a related discipline, along with a minimum of two years of full-time experience in the human services sector or a comparable field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-home support to children and their families using skill-based, evidence-driven methodologies to assist families in resolving challenges and enhancing their overall well-being.
- Serve as a resource, provider, and advocate for families to advance child welfare initiatives.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and provide case management support in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Utilize collaborative documentation practices.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with community stakeholders, including health and human services, medical professionals, legal representatives, therapists, law enforcement, educational officials, and other support networks.
- Apply evidence-based strategies to families and individuals connected to the family, employing techniques such as Solution-Based Casework, SafeCare, Child Safety Conferences, and Motivational Interviewing.
- Maintain a required level of direct engagement with families and be available for crisis intervention as necessary.
- Exhibit professionalism through role modeling and mutual respect.
- Utilize personal transportation for travel to service locations and provide community-based support.
- Document and report emergencies and critical incidents involving family members or staff.
- Actively participate in individual, group, and organizational training and supervision.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
- Familiarity with community resources and service providers in the area.
- This full-time position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the potential for evening and weekend work to fulfill contractual requirements.
- Availability for on-call support to address crises as needed.
