UVA Health Cancer Care Opportunity

UVA Health is seeking a full-time Board-Certified/Board Eligible Hematology Oncology Physician to join their growing team in Gainesville, Virginia.

The successful candidate will be a key player in delivering comprehensive cancer care to patients in our community and supporting the expansion of oncology services at UVA Health.

This position offers a unique combination of access to an UVA NCI-designated Cancer Center and the resources of a top-tier tertiary/quaternary medical center, all within a supportive Virginia community.

The role provides significant community engagement, seamless integration with local hospitals, and the rare opportunity to actively shape and grow a growing oncology practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consults, ongoing treatment management, and follow-up care to patients
  • Review diagnostic tests and imaging results
  • Manage infusion services and monitor patients during treatment
  • Participate in tumor boards, research, and Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless patient experience from initial diagnosis through survivorship or Palliative Care
  • Occasional inpatient rounding

Practice Setting:

The majority of time will be spent at our Gainesville Cancer Care facility, with occasional services at affiliated hospitals.

The patient population is diverse, reflecting a mix of urban and suburban demographics, with a growing demand for oncology services.
