Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal issues, statutes, and case law to provide informed recommendations to our judges.
  • Writing and Drafting: Assist in drafting and proofreading opinions, orders, professional correspondence, and public information documents.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain effective relationships with judges, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to our judges and staff, including coordinating meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining records.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives, such as updating the Domestic Relations Division website and materials for self-represented litigants.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
  • License: Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
  • Experience: Strong interest in family law required; past experience in family law highly preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and ability to work well with others.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer screen and perform other physical demands as outlined in the job description.
