With facilities located throughout the United States, we are steadfast in our mission to provide compassionate care and assistance to individuals grappling with PTSD and substance use disorders.

The IAFF Center of Excellence is devoted to aiding firefighters and emergency medical technicians who encounter PTSD and substance use disorders at significantly higher rates than the general population. Our facility offers 64 beds and is situated in a peaceful area, providing a serene environment for recovery.

Your Role:

As an LPN Licensed Practical Nurse, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities during your shifts, which include delivering compassionate care and educating patients about their medical and psychological conditions. Establishing trust and rapport with patients and their families is essential in this position. Collaborating effectively with the facility leadership team, your primary duties will encompass:

  • Addressing outstanding issues from the previous shift, such as incomplete labs or treatments, and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Conducting compliance audits related to infection control and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Managing medication storage, returns, and resolving pharmacy-related issues.
  • Overseeing supply orders and inventory management.
  • Monitoring lab orders and tracking medical transfers.
  • Coordinating the admission workflow and ensuring proper labeling of collected samples.
  • Performing administrative tasks, including document management and assisting with scheduling.
  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance with nursing procedures.

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts | Options for day or night shifts | Flexible availability for PRN or full-time positions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in Practical Nursing as per state regulations.
  • Current licensure to practice in the state.
  • Preferred: Higher education and two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a behavioral health setting is ideal.
