About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Algorithm Engineer to join our team at KLA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and deploying Deep Learning models for image processing and computer vision applications in our semiconductor process control business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design AI sub-system components for product features
  • Lead and coach junior engineers in designing and implementing AI sub-system components
  • Collaborate with global peers across functions to work and communicate effectively
  • Evaluate state-of-the-art Deep Learning and Computer Vision algorithms
  • Implement SOTA Deep Learning and Computer Vision models
  • Understand and apply DL/GenAI training techniques to model development
  • Design and improve DL models for specific feature requests
  • Optimize and fine-tune DL or GenAI models
  • Evaluate and validate the performance of DL or GenAI models
  • Perform A/B testing between models and applications on real data
  • Present technical ideas, concepts, and results to peers and customers

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related quantitative fields
  • 3+ years of industrial experience applying DL/GenAI on real-world problems with impactful results
  • In-depth experience in at least one of the modeling areas, including Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, LLMs, Vision Foundation Model, GenAI, Multi-Modal Modeling, etc.
  • In-depth experience in at least one of the application fields, including Computer Vision, Image Processing, Video Processing, Robotics, NLP, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one additional programming language, such as C/C++, Rust, Go, Java, or Swift
  • Proficiency in at least one Deep Learning framework, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, PaddlePaddle, or equivalent
  • Demonstrations of Deep Learning experience via technical publications in top conferences or industrial patents or impactful open-source projects
