About This RoleThe Maintenance Technician - Equipment Specialist will play a vital role in our operations, performing a wide range of activities including housekeeping, monitoring systems for proper operations, ensuring countermeasures are followed, repairing and executing work alongside other maintenance staff, or helping in other departments as needed. This role is essential to our operations and requires the ability to follow clear directions, work in a loud, cold environment, and perform work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Active Participation in Safety Program: Participate in Wawona Frozen Foods' safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
- Training and Company Meetings: Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
- Compliance with Policies and Procedures: Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance: Clean-up work areas or other housekeeping duties as assigned or needed. Servicing machinery for the prevention of breakdowns, in accordance with the organization's LOTO program.
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Entry-level ability to perform Total Productive Maintenance in any equipment, including but not limited to repair or replacement of bearings, bushings, shafts, gear boxes, greasing, lubing, etc.
- Troubleshooting and Countermeasures: Ability to assess issues, troubleshoot, and develop proper countermeasures.
- Inspections and Compliance: Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Other Duties: Other duties may be assigned as required by position.
- Experience and Education: 0-3 years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and recognize similarities and differences. Ability to do continuous repetitive work.
- Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.
- Work Ethic and Attitude: Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude. Self-motivated and self-starter.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work with various employees and employee levels while building rapport and respect.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
- Color-Coding and Sanitation: Understand and follow all color-coding rules as stated in procedures for utensils, containers, and other equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
- Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
- A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal downtime.
- Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as buckets of fruit, boxes, pails, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently.
- Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, duties, or assignments such as sorting, packing, stacking, or cutting.
- Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
- You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
- Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
