Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including 2D echo, Doppler, stress, dobutamine, and other echocardiographic tests.
  • Obtain pertinent clinical information from patient, medical chart, and/or physician using accepted standard techniques.
  • Communicate purpose and procedures related to the ultrasound test to the patient and comfort/reassure patient about the examination.
  • Notify physician of patient distress and/or severe abnormal readings.
  • Provide assistance and training in the Echocardiograph Laboratory and maintain appropriate training documentation materials.
  • Participate in the development of effective Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities to improve quality of care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in ultrasound procedures/equipment, CW Doppler, and related anatomy/pathological conditions of and related to the heart required.
  • Associates degree in the medical/technical field or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field required.
  • Cardiographic Technician Certificate OR Registered Vascular Specialist Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certificate OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate required.
  • Basic Life Support required.
