We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Cone Health Employee Health & Wellness. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care as delegated by the MD and according to standard plans of care.
- Assist in collection of data, including biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors.
- Enter data, such as vital signs, and implement the plan of care as directed by the MD/APP.
- Perform 12-lead EKGs, select respiratory care procedures, and other assigned patient care.
- Administer oral and parenteral medications, including immunizations, controlled substances, and therapeutic injections.
- Document all administrations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete prior authorizations for medications and communicate physician prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments, tests, admissions, and follow-through with physician orders.
- Obtain all appropriate prior authorization or pre-certification for patients.
- Coordinate tests with schedulers, pre-certification staff, and patients and their families.
- Oversee appointment bookings, ensuring preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
- Maintain timely flow of patients.
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely documentation of all medical assistant procedures in the medical record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
- Diploma/Certificate in Medical Assistant Program preferred
- 2, Healthcare - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Preferred
- Current and active certification as a medical assistant by one of the following: American Allied Health (AAH), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA)
- Physician Office Experience
This position is located in a clinic setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
