We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse RN to join our team at Centinela Hospital Medical Center. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leadership to our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct communication with the Department Director and/or House Supervisor regarding patient care events and risk management activities.
- Utilize nursing personnel effectively, assisting with scheduling, staffing, and assignments.
- Provide direction, supervision, and evaluation of staff, as well as staff education and training.
- Assist with performance evaluations, progressive discipline, and other HR activities as needed.
- Assess supplies and equipment availability, ensuring proper use and functionality, and assist with daily maintenance of par levels.
- Collaborate with other department managers/supervisors to ensure smooth coordination of services to patients.
- Enhance patient flow within the facility and efficient admission/discharge/transfer processes.
- Assess patient care delivery and quality of care/documentation on a consistent basis.
- Direct staff members to make immediate changes in the plan of care, as appropriate, to ensure patient safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines, hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and/or clinical pathways.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting preferred.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certificate within 12 months of hire and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
