Produce Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Manager to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the produce department to achieve sales and profit goals, while ensuring exceptional customer service and a safe and clean shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Manage the Produce Department: Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the produce department, including inventory management, stocking, and merchandising.
- Drive Sales and Profit Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profit growth, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure Exceptional Customer Service: Foster a positive and welcoming shopping environment, ensuring that customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Manage Inventory and Stocking: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring that products are properly stocked and displayed.
- Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure that the produce department is clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Train and Develop Associates: Provide guidance and training to associates on produce-related tasks, including inventory management, stocking, and customer service.
- Monitor and Control Expenses: Help to ensure that expenses for the department are controlled and managed effectively.
- Implement Merchandising Promotional Plans: Develop and implement merchandising promotional plans to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
- Ensure Price Integrity: Maintain accurate pricing and ensure that all promotional signs and shelf tags are up-to-date and accurate.
- Assist with Inventory Process: Participate in the inventory process, ensuring that all products are accurately counted and recorded.
- Maintain Temperature Logs: Ensure that temperature logs are maintained and that all cases and coolers are at the correct temperature.
- Reinforce Safety Programs: Comply with safety procedures and identify any unsafe conditions, reporting them to store management.
- Practice Preventive Maintenance: Regularly inspect equipment and notify the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
- Report Safety Risks and Issues: Report any safety risks, issues, customer or employee accidents, and illegal activity to store management.
- 18 years of age
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Current food handlers permit once employed
- Management experience preferred
