Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in meal and beverage preparation.
  • Participate in the food tray assembly line, ensuring trays are prepared according to dietary requirements efficiently.
  • Help load food carts and serve meals to residents and staff.
  • Bag and store food items as instructed.
  • Clean and wrap silverware, ensuring each piece is spotless before wrapping.
  • Bus and clean tables post-meal throughout the facility.
  • Scrape, wash, and rack dirty dishes and utensils.
  • Assist in operating the dishwashing machine.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes, inspecting for cleanliness.
  • Store clean dishes, utensils, and cutlery appropriately.
  • Participate in table setup, including tablecloths, silverware, dishware, and filling cups with water.
  • Dispose of waste in designated containers, adhering to sanitation protocols.
  • Maintain a clean work area, free from hazards such as spills and excess carts.
  • Ensure equipment, tools, and supplies are stored correctly at all times.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and supply needs to the supervisor.
  • Notify the Dietary Supervisor of any hazardous conditions or incidents.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Attend and engage in meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Understand and follow Infection Control guidelines, including hand hygiene and recognizing signs of infection.
  • Promote and protect resident rights by treating them with dignity and respect, and supporting their decision-making.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • One year of experience as a Dietary Aide preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions, including basic calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of food service, sanitation, and safety practices.
