About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide expert perioperative patient care, serving as a scrub assistant to physicians during operative and/or invasive procedures. They will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and adhere to established standards of care, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify the availability and functioning of supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to each procedure.
  • Implement aseptic techniques and advanced surgical practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve exceptional results.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with best practices and technologies.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A graduate degree from a Surgical Technologist program.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • At least one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with increasing levels of responsibility and expertise.
