We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Faculty member to join our team in the Department of Internal Medicine Clinic-SMS at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. As a Clinical Faculty member, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality medical education, patient care, and research in the field of Infectious Disease.
Key Responsibilities- Participate as a full-time faculty member in the Departmental and Medical School activities as a Clinical Teacher.
- Contribute to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows through teaching, mentoring, and supervising.
- Develop and maintain professional practice in accordance with departmental policy.
- Complete inpatient and outpatient consultations requested by full-time SIU clinical faculty, house staff, and community physicians.
- Participate in University, SIU HC, and hospital committees as requested.
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Graduate of accredited medical school program.
- Graduate of formal specialty training program in Infectious Disease.
- Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or eligibility for ABIM.
- Diplomate of the American Board of Infectious Diseases Medicine or eligibility for Infectious Diseases Board.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois or Licensed by the State of Illinois prior to employment.
