• Supervise pharmacy staff involved in the preparation, packaging, labeling, and modifications of prescription orders.

• Ensure the accurate intake of prescription requests and the timely fulfillment of orders.

• Dispense medications and provide guidance to nursing facility personnel regarding the use of both prescription and over-the-counter drugs, while advising healthcare providers on medication management.

• Educate nursing facility staff on general wellness topics, including nutrition, physical activity, and stress reduction, and offer information on products like durable medical equipment or home health supplies.

• Develop and uphold systems for the secure storage and record-keeping of pharmaceuticals.

• Foster effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration, improve pharmacy services, and boost operational performance.

• Take ownership and responsibility for completing all pharmacy-related tasks and achieving departmental objectives.

• Provide after-hours support to customers through an on-call service.

• Assist in promoting effective communication and information sharing within the pharmacy.

• Contribute to the enhancement of quality initiatives and accuracy in prescription processing.

• Engage with healthcare providers, residents, and facility administrators on pharmacy consulting matters, ensuring positive customer relations.

• Participate in training pharmacy staff on utilization management principles and evaluate staff development.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics policies, including responsibilities for documentation and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

Reporting To: Operations Manager
  • Preferred experience in long-term care pharmacy as a Pharmacist.
  • Must possess a valid pharmacy license in the state of employment and be willing to obtain licensure in additional states as requested.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance is essential.
  • Stay informed about current state, federal, and company regulations and policies.
  • Comply with regulatory standards and company policies, including the Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (OSHA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, etc.). Advise pharmacy staff on any regulatory updates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to coordinate multiple team members and provide clear direction.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other Windows-based software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and proprietary company information.
  • Must be able to engage professionally and positively with patients, families, and colleagues at all levels.
