Position Summary:


The Outside Plant Engineer I/II at Kinetic plays a crucial role in linking consumer and small business clients to our premier telecommunications offerings across the nation.

In this capacity, you will focus on fostering meaningful connections with clients and establishing enduring partnerships. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing intricate solutions for network infrastructure.

By evaluating various data sets, you will address complex challenges faced by our business and residential customers, utilizing copper and fiber cabling along with electronic components.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineer and design outside plant facilities, incorporating both fiber and copper technologies.
  • Assist in the strategic planning, analysis, design, and engineering of outside plant network structures and facilities.
  • Coordinate multifaceted activities related to the development, construction, implementation, and maintenance of outside plant engineering projects.
  • Employ sound engineering principles and organizational objectives to creatively and effectively resolve issues.
  • Communicate effectively to cultivate and sustain positive and productive working relationships, ensuring project completion.
  • Engage proactively with field engineers and design vendors to ensure safe installations, adherence to timelines, and cost-effective use of materials and labor.
  • Conduct administrative tasks related to projects and assignments.
  • Identify pole ownership, right-of-way, and permitting requirements.
  • Collaborate with municipal, county, and state permitting agencies.
  • Assess situations, collaborate with stakeholders, identify critical issues, and devise solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications:
  • Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Analytical skills to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions.
  • A passion for problem-solving and developing effective solutions.
  • A four-year college degree in a technical field (STEM) or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with CAD/E, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
  • Experience collaborating with municipal, county, and/or state agencies.
  • Possession of a PE license and experience in job review processes.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional standing, walking, climbing, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and reaching above head.
  • Continuous sitting and medium dexterity required for job performance.
  • Frequent driving and repetitive hand actions.

Work Environment:

Utilization of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and telecommunication devices.
