Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mill Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the Kensington Mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machinery at the mill.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machinery
  • Collaborate with operational personnel to coordinate maintenance activities with production requirements
  • Proactively assess and recommend modifications to increase safety, environmental, and health aspects of the mill
  • Proactively assess and recommend modifications to increase gold recovery efficiency, plant availability, and decrease operational costs
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including safety meetings, attendance, vacations, scheduling, and accidents
  • Perform intermediate welding and fabrication tasks
  • Responsible for pre-shift inspection of work areas and equipment and respond appropriately

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification/Degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanical Maintenance from a vocational tech school or equivalent work history
  • 1-3 years of maintenance experience
  • Excellent analytical, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be frequently exposed to underground work environments, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is usually very loud. This position may require work on nights, weekends, and rotating shifts; shift schedules may require residency in on-island camp during work rotations.
