Retaining Wall Foreperson

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Retaining Wall Foreperson to lead a team in the construction of commercial retaining walls and excavation support in heavy civil and highway construction projects throughout Northeast PA and the Lehigh Valley.

• Ensure all work is performed according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Read and interpret blueprints and job-related documents to plan work
• Record daily events in a job diary
• Schedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew
• Develop crew SIP's and submit to site foreman
• Track daily quantities and submit to site foreman
• Conduct daily huddles with crew to establish daily production goals and ensure all members of the crew know and buy into the plan for the day
• Communicate goals and purposes effectively, lead by example, and influence company values
• Proactively train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Communicate with customer representatives and inspectors in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform all other duties of crew members as needed

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or one year of related experience and/or training
• Working knowledge and ability to safely and efficiently understand and direct crane set up and lifting plans
• Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
• Ability to operate surveying instruments, shoot elevations, and straight lines
• Experience with pile driving and drilling equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills, including internet, email, and the use of digital cameras for work documentation
• Driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to travel as required for projects
• Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to the job)
