Key Responsibilities- Transport Patients with Care: Properly and safely transport patients, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical equipment as needed.
- Operate Rolling Stock: Utilize wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to transport patients and equipment.
- Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with nursing personnel, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient transport.
- Ensure Patient Comfort: Provide a comfortable and respectful environment for patients, offering blankets and checking modesty as needed.
- Monitor Patient Distress: Alert nursing staff immediately if you notice any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
- Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any issues or needed repairs.
- Comply with Regulations: Adhere to federal, state, and JCAHO regulations, as well as facility confidentiality and patient rights policies.
