About the Role

The Banquet Captain is a key member of our events team, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of banquets and events at our venue. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee entire banquet functions to ensure proper execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Review assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to scheduled events.
  • Conduct pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are being met, assign stations and partners, and review banquet event orders.
  • Communicate with the Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager or event coordinator to ensure all details have been planned for and met.
  • Ensure that appropriate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available for upcoming events.
  • Check room set-up prior to events and meet with Executive Chef to confirm quantities of food items and timing of food leaving the kitchen.
  • Ensure proper handling of all equipment and their proper storage after use.
  • Conduct random audits during functions to evaluate food and service.
  • Regularly review banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
