Job Summary

SEACORP is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Systems Specialist to perform a wide range of technical activities related to the production, prototyping, testing, installation, troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimization of Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) on various military platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions to assemble electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
  • Test electronics units using standard test equipment and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine the need for adjustment.
  • Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components using hand tools or a soldering iron.
  • Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics using hand or power tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.
  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use.
  • Write reports or record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications to assist engineers.
  • Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
  • Research equipment or component needs, sources, competitive prices, delivery times, or ongoing operational costs.
  • Provide user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools or software by reading or attending conferences, workshops, or other training.
  • Design basic circuitry and draft sketches for clarification of details and design documentation under engineers' direction using drafting instruments or computer-aided design (CAD) equipment.
  • Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
  • Fabricate parts, such as coils, terminal boards, or chassis, using bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED / Vocational School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement of employment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of 40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise, and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
