Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for the safety of individuals and the development of strategies that enhance performance and foster ongoing improvement.
  • Facilitate the execution of HSE directives in collaboration with management.
  • Provide essential HSE services pertinent to the operational site.
  • Enforce HSE policies and protocols.
  • Assist in the creation, execution, and modification of a tailored HSE plan for the site.
  • Oversee adherence to HSE standards, including client-specific requirements; conduct regular field inspections and audits; recommend and implement corrective measures.
Additional Duties
  • Support site-specific HSE training initiatives.
  • Evaluate statistical data, inspection findings, and compliance assessments; monitor and analyze trends.
  • Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and propose preventive measures.
  • Oversee the procurement and training needs for personal protective equipment.
  • Assist in the orientation process for new employees.
  • Manage health and environmental risk factors and exposures.
  • Coordinate first aid and medical emergency services.
  • Supervise the HSE recognition program.
  • Engage with other HSE professionals to exchange best practices and lessons learned.
  • Pursue ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at achieving a Zero Harm culture.
  • Actively participate in auditing processes.
  • Support project initiation and readiness assessments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control strategies.
  • Facilitate training and educational programs.
Qualifications
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field; or 2 years of technical training in lieu of a degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant HSE experience; advanced medical and/or HSE certifications are a plus.
  • Strong statistical and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in building relationships across various employee levels.
  • Familiarity with computer-based systems and software.
  • Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Understanding of planning tools and processes.
  • Experience with training programs.
  • Ability to measure HSE performance using leading and lagging indicators.
  • Engagement with industry HSE associations and resources.
  • Capability to develop management skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in presenting and training.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and audits.
