Department: Cardiac Catheterization Labs
Shift Schedule: Early Morning Shift 06:30 - 17:00 Hours, Monday to Friday, 4 days, 10-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist) during procedures by scrubbing or monitoring physiological and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the cardiovascular lab.
- Ensure the procedure room is fully prepared for operations.
- Monitor the inventory levels of all instruments and supplies.
- Engage in departmental meetings and performance enhancement activities, as well as train new staff members. Support all aspects of invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.
- 13-week contract - BLS, ACLS; ARRT or RCIS certification required; flexible start and end times Monday to Friday; On-call: 1-2 weekday evenings per week, 1 weekend per month; Holidays: covered by on-call duty; prior experience in a cath lab is essential; may require travel to sites within a 40-mile radius.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) certification.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Proficient technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Passionate about delivering quality patient care.
- Minimum of two years of current experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician.
- Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Cath Lab Technician program.
- Active and unencumbered Cardiac Cath Lab Technician license in Wisconsin.
- One year of experience with Epic software.
- COVID vaccination with two shots and a booster.
- Commitment to maintaining and updating clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participation in relevant continuing education programs.
- Dedication to providing the highest level of patient care and service excellence.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude is essential, with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with physicians, managers, and staff across the department and hospital.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
