Pharmacy Manager Assistant Job Description

At Publix Super Markets, Inc., we're passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and providing a supportive work environment for our associates. As an Assistant Pharmacy Manager, you'll play a key role in driving the success of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pharmacy Department Success: Execute strategy, motivate and inspire staff, set priorities to maximize contribution, and seek feedback and developmental opportunities for advancement.
  • Best-in-Class Pharmacy Service: Provide exceptional service to patients, empower staff to provide value and service through counseling, build personalized relationships, promote customer loyalty, and offer pharmacist-led clinical services to improve health and wellness and preventative care.
  • Team Development: Mentor, train, and develop a high-functioning pharmacy team, providing developmental opportunities and challenging assignments to all staff, tailored to meet each individual's needs.
  • Leadership: Inspire your team to do the right thing, gain buy-in, and empower the team to be accountable for the goals of the pharmacy department.
  • Program Execution: Serve as a champion for executing programs and processes, creating enthusiasm for innovation in your location.
  • Performance Management: Manage performance, including scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure complex operational activities are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure continuous improvement and maintain a competitive advantage by understanding metrics as they relate to sales and service in your pharmacy, using best practices, and making sound business decisions as the pharmacist-in-charge.
  • Expertise: Be regarded as an expert on the pharmacy technology system and how it is used for both routine and complex prescription processing.
  • Inventory Management: Excel in managing medication on-hand inventory and be regarded as an expert in pharmacy inventory operations.
  • Best Practices: Mentor others on best practices to maximize sales, minimize shrink while meeting customers' needs, using programs such as auto refill and Sync Your Refills.
  • Pharmacy Clinical Initiatives: Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM), point-of-care testing, immunizations, and diabetes management.
  • Community Involvement: Participate locally as a community pharmacist in events that will meet the unique health and preventative care needs within the local area, such as health screenings and immunizations.
  • Flexibility: Maintain a flexible work-week schedule to meet the needs of our customers.
