Position Overview:

The CT and MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating advanced imaging technology to capture detailed images of specific body regions, adhering to the directives provided by Radiologists. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of imaging techniques, patient care, and anatomical knowledge. The specialist prioritizes patient needs, fostering strong relationships and addressing their concerns effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety and quality protocols established by Kaiser Permanente, ensuring high standards in clinical practice and patient interactions.
  • Guide patients through the preparation process for imaging procedures, clearly explaining each step in a respectful manner. Administer contrast materials as directed by the physician and position patients accurately to achieve optimal imaging results.
  • Utilize CT and MRI equipment to generate high-quality images, making necessary adjustments to meet radiologist specifications and ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and related technology, including computers and storage devices, ensuring operational efficiency and image quality.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks on imaging procedures and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Document and manage imaging records and statistics accurately, ensuring compliance with departmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members, demonstrating professionalism in both verbal and written interactions.
  • Consider the diverse needs of patients across different age groups, providing care that is tailored to their specific requirements.
  • Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks as needed to support patient care.
  • Exhibit exemplary service behaviors in alignment with Kaiser Permanente's mission and values, ensuring a culturally sensitive approach to patient interactions.
Qualifications:

Experience:
  • At least six months of recent experience in computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology training program, with current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both CT and MR.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography.
  • ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Additional Skills:
  • Proficient in operating CT and MRI equipment and performing related technical tasks.
  • Strong understanding of imaging techniques and human anatomy.
  • Effective communication skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment as necessary.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and understanding patient needs.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Dual certification in MRI and CT.
